
What is the OSSTP?
The Organization of Social Studies Teachers in the Philippines, Inc. (OSSTP) is a non-profit, non-stock corporation comprised of Social Studies Educators throughout the Philippines.

OSSTP was formed as an offshoot of a conference organized by the Social Studies Education (EDSSE) Area of the UP College of Education on April 17, 2015.
OSSTP was subsequently registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 13, 2015 with an initial membership of 40. Two faculty members and seven graduate students (MA and PhD level) from the EDSSE Area of the College became the Board members and officers of the organization.
As of 2016, there were 178 members from different public and private schools in Metro Manila and nearby provinces of Luzon, including a few from Visayas and Mindanao.

WHAT WE DO
We have organized national conferences to help develop the skills and competences of social studies teachers around the country.
We provide opportunities for students and teachers to share their ideas, best practices, and research on social studies education.
OSSTP helps organize educational tours related to social studies, enriching conversations beyond the classroom.
We provide learning platforms that are both enriching and accessible to members and participants around the country.
We provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents, such as essay-writing competitions and editorial cartoon competitions.
Teachers are also given a platform to showcase their abilities, through lesson plan-writing contests and other teacher competitons.
